(Video) Need A Ride? This Malaysian Campus Has A Driverless Smart Bus

As technology advances, the world has became home to the many modern automobiles. From electric automobiles to driverless cars, the future of the automobile sector is nearer in time and location than we deemed it to be.

Since late 2019, University Malaysia Pahang started developing a project called Smart Campus Autonomous Vehicle (SCAV). Check out the infographic below:

Fully developed by local experts with level 4 knowledge on autonomous technology, this smart bus will truly bring forth a different future towards the country. Recently, tests were conducted around the campus to check and adjust the speed throttle of the smart bus. The project is still under development and testing, that’s why the size is small and no real passengers have ridden the bus yet.

More in depth details regarding the project can be read on Tweet posted by Ts. Dr. Muhammad Aizzat Zakaria’s of the Faculty of Manufacturing and Mechatronics Engineering, UMP:

[Sedikit sejarah Pembangunan Smart Campus Autonomous Vehicle (SCAV)]

(Ini adalah bebenang)

Projek ini bermula sekitar hujung tahun 2019. Pada masa ini kami di UMP masih tidak mempunyai makmal Autonomous Vehicle. Namun, terdapat beberapa prototaip awal skala kecil dibangunkan.

These projects would be beneficial in urban areas if support is received from the government and private companies. As long as the 3 parties work hand in hand – universities focusing on the research and development, government providing resources and support, and private companies offering commercialization, hopefully we can all move forward as a solid unit.

“God willing, one day, we Malaysians can continue to progress,” Aid Fazwell, an inventor said.

Korang tau tak, Universiti Malaysia Pahang ada bangunkan bas pintar tanpa pemandu?

Projek ni mereka panggil Smart Campus Autonomous Vehicle (SCAV) dan pembangunannya telah bermula sejak 2021 lagi. Baru2 ni April 2023… pic.twitter.com/5IGJ3zA7T2
