We all have that one friend who we can always rely on to take really good photos of us. If you don’t have that friend, either you are that friend or you need to go out more and meet new people. Whatever it is, it’s nice to have this person in our lives, especially when travelling together.

But what do you do if you’re travelling alone and need someone to help take a photo? You can simply ask random strangers on the street to do that. However, results may vary, as there’s no guarantee the person is good with the camera. Mark O’dea seems to have this problem – but it looks like he’s found a solution to this. Watch:

I am not being racist…. BUT!! 😂🙉 #asian #british #picture #tiktokmalaysia #markodea

The British content creator has been living in Malaysia for years now and occasionally travels the world for work or leisure. During this past long weekend, the 31-year-old posted a video on both his Instagram and TikTok accounts revealing that whenever he returns to the UK, he would always ask Asian people to help take his photos. Why?

“I am not being racist but I will always ask an Asian person to help take a photo because they are better picture-takers than us Brits,” he said in the video, before backing up his statement with a social experiment. The Malaysia-based YouTuber then proceeded to demonstrate how a British person takes a photo by approaching a man to ask for his help to snap his image.

As seen in the video, the man showed no interest, made no great effort, and took only one photo before leaving. The result? Not a great photo. The internet celeb then approached two Asian women to ask for their help – and immediately we can see their enthusiasm. The video shows how the women directed Mark on where to stand, and made an effort to get the right angle.

Mark ended the video by showing the results and said, “And that is why I will always ask an Asian to take my photo”. The video has gone hugely viral, with over 20 million views and counting on TikTok. Netizens, especially Asians, flooded the comments section, with most agreeing with Mark’s contention that Asian people take better photos.

Some even shared that they’ve had similar experiences with Asians in other countries. Do you agree with his statement? Do Asians take better photos than British people? Share your thoughts.
