When you become a parent, you start paying more attention to every comment about your child. After receiving many concerning remarks about her son, Malaysian singer Jeii Pong (庞琂予) finally reveals the truth.
The 29-year-old recently shared a video on her Instagram account to address the speculations regarding her toddler Galax. According to Jeii, her son was born with a lot of birthmarks covering most of his face and body. She first noticed it right after he was born but brushed it off because she thought they were temporary. However, the doctor then told her that the marks were permanent.
While birthmarks aren’t unusual, the singer said the large dark spots caused people to speculate that Galax was being abused. The marks on his face could also lead to other health problems like glaucoma. Jeii also said she received comments from friends that the marks might’ve developed because of something she did while pregnant. Understandably, those comments made her feel guilty, thinking she was at fault for Galax’s birthmarks.
The media personality said she had long hid her son’s birthmarks as she was worried about the comments that young Galax might receive. She even thought about getting the marks removed so that her son wouldn’t be made fun of in the future. However, after talking with her husband, Jeii decided to come clean about Galax’s birthmarks and embrace his imperfections. She added that she and her husband just want Galax to grow healthily.
After sharing Galax’s story, Jeii received a lot of love and support from her friends and netizens. Many assured her that the birthmarks are normal and that what matters most is the child’s health and happiness. Others sent words of encouragement to the two parents, saying that they shouldn’t blame themselves. Some also added that Galax is lucky to have parents who care so much about him.
We’re sure that Jeii has her reason for being concerned about Galax’s birthmarks. However, it’s nice to see her embrace her son’s imperfections. We hope to hear more happy news from this family soon.
