Polycystic Ovary Syndrome, or PCOS, is a common hormonal disorder that affects many women, including celebrities. Recently, former Miss Hong Kong Lisa-Marie Tse (謝嘉怡) talked about her PCOS diagnosis and how she started making lifestyle changes to manage her condition.
Earlier this month, Lisa-Marie appeared on actress Toby Leung’s (梁靖琪) “Tea Talk with Toby” podcast, where she chatted about her life and career. One of the topics the two dived into was health and wellness. During the chat, Lisa-Marie revealed that she was recently diagnosed with PCOS. However, she said she’s had symptoms related to the disorder for many years.
According to the former TVB star, she had struggled with many health issues throughout her life, including frequent migraines, low iron and hair loss. Lisa-Marie said that she didn’t realise that all these health issues were related to her PCOS. She added that if she had known earlier, she would’ve made lifestyle changes to help her condition.
Lisa-Marie noted that she specifically tried to manage her condition through holistic methods because she wasn’t keen on going through hormone therapy or taking medication for the rest of her life. Instead, the 30-year-old said that she has been eating healthier, keeping her diet in check and adding more fibre. On top of that, she’s been managing her stress levels.

The former nurse, who also has psoriasis, argues that many people go straight to medication because that’s often the first option provided. Lisa-Marie said she wants to raise awareness about the positive effects of making lifestyle changes to manage health conditions like PCOS, adding that it can be another option to long-term medication.
While Lisa also mentioned that medication is vital, she noted that it shouldn’t be the only option that people turn to. We hope that Lisa-Marie will remain in the best of health, and may she achieve her goal in raising more awareness. Watch the full podcast episode below:
