Many Hong Kong stars who visit Malaysia often gush about our local cuisines and eateries. After showcasing his meals from his last visit to Kuala Lumpur, actor Wayne Lai (黎耀祥) was seen at another local restaurant.
On 6th October 2025 (Monday), a XiaoHongShu user shared that she met Wayne Lai over the weekend at Restoran Kum Heng at Taman Kok Lian in Kuala Lumpur. The user wrote in her post, “I totally didn’t expect it!! Today at dinner, I happened to run into my childhood idol from Hong Kong dramas—Wayne Lai and his wife! They were both so friendly and charming!”.
The XiaoHongShu user also praised the star for his friendliness towards the other customers and the staff, even taking a few photos with them. The post also revealed that Wayne and his wife often engage in casual conversation with the other diners, showcasing their down-to-earth personality. Additionally, the user said the actor and his wife appeared to enjoy their food.
If you’re wondering why the actor is in town, he’s here to attend The Knights Award. Dr Zyro Wong, a local entrepreneur and the president of the award ceremony, even shared a video of him welcoming Wayne and his team to Malaysia. The video also showed the actor filming other promotional activities, which will likely be shared in the future.
This visit is Wayne’s second trip to Malaysia this year because he was previously in KL in January. A few months after his visit, the 61-year-old shared a short vlog on his XiaoHongShu account, detailing what he ate while in town. Besides dining on some quintessential Malaysian dishes, including nasi lemak and laksa, the star also paid a visit to the Petronas Twin Towers.
