Hong Kong actor Benjamin Yuen (袁伟豪) is no stranger to Malaysia, having visited our country many times. However, the star is now venturing into new territories with a role in the upcoming Malaysia-Hong Kong production, “Black Ops: Operasi Serigala”.
Benjamin is one of the many stars who will appear in the new project, which is a collaboration between Malaysia’s Skop Productions, Astro Shaw, Komet Studios and GSC with Hong Kong’s One Cool Films. One Cool Films is the production house founded by renowned movie star Louis Koo (古天樂). Directors Syafiq Yusof and Keian Chui (徐梓耀) lead the project.

“Black Ops: Operasi Serigala” has been in production for three weeks, with plans for release at the end of this year. During the film’s press conference on 6th January 2026 (Tuesday), Benjamin shared his experience of working on the production. According to the actor, he not only performed many of the action scenes himself but also took on the majority-Malay dialogue.
Benjamin even showed off a little bit of his Malay speaking skills at the press conference, impressing the crowd. The actor quipped that he relied entirely on listening to the crew’s recordings and memorising his lines while looking at the script to improve his Malay speech. While it seems gruelling, Benjamin joked that he’ll do anything to support his family and newborn.
In November 2025, Benjamin and wife, Bowie Cheung (张宝儿), welcomed their second son. The actor revealed that he had to come to Malaysia shortly after his baby was born to begin filming for the movie. While he admitted to missing his kids, the star said they’ve been communicating regularly through video calls, so he’s still able to talk to them.

When asked if he took precautions when filming his action scenes to avoid worrying his family, Benjamin replied, “I don’t hold back when I’m working, but I always follow professional guidance.” Action choreographer Ken Law (罗浩铭) revealed that Benjamin had three major action scenes in the movie, and dedicated himself to training to get the best results.
“Black Ops: Operasi Serigala” also stars Sharnaaz Ahmad, Datuk Aaron Aziz and more. With a reputable and dedicated cast, there’s no doubt that this upcoming film will be a big hit. Are you excited for the project? In the meantime, watch Benjamin’s interview below:
