One should always drive at a slower pace when navigating through a residential area, especially when making a turn. This is to avoid hitting any residents who may be walking, jogging, or even riding their bicycles in the area. Unfortunately, this courier van not only failed to slow down at the speed bump but also ran over a dog that was sleeping.
Facebook user Joseff Hoo posted a video earlier showing a GD Express (GDEX) delivery van running over a stray dog after making a sharp turn in a housing area at Taman Seri Bunut in Banting, Selangor. The poor canine was then seen rolling in pain on the side of the road after being struck by the large vehicle.

As expected, the disturbing footage sparked outrage among netizens, who demanded a public apology from the company for their reckless driving. Some also expressed concern for the animal’s well-being. On Tuesday (12th November), GD Express issued an apology on their official Facebook page, insisting that the entire incident was an accident.
“It was an accident that we are deeply regretful for and we sincerely apologise for the unfortunate incident. Safety is our utmost priority. The management has since suspended the driver from his duties and will take further disciplinary actions. We are also enhancing our safety procedures and protocols,” the company wrote. However, there was no mention of the dog’s condition or whether the driver had exited the vehicle to check on its injuries
While some accepted the apology, many weren’t as forgiving. Netizens suspected that the driver was fully aware of the sleeping dog on the road but chose not to stop. Others believed GD Express’ statement was insincere, as they only acknowledged the incident without providing any information about what happened to the poor animal. Some suggested that stronger measures should be taken to ensure that a similar incident does not occur in the future.

At the time of writing, sadly, there have been no reports on the stray dog’s condition, but judging by the footage, it is likely that it did not survive.
