Kae Asakura, better known as Rae Lil Black (䙥), made headlines this week after netizens discovered that she is embracing Islam. The former adult actress is currently in Malaysia for the second time, exploring various mosques, primarily around Kuala Lumpur.
While some are skeptical about her conversion, many have congratulated the content creator on her new path and offered prayers for her. Netizens have also expressed curiosity about her story and what led her to embrace the religion. We now have the answers to those questions.

In an interview with Dzar Ismail on his Mim podcast, Rae Lil Black revealed that her journey to Islam actually began during her last visit to Malaysia. She shared that the reason she wore a hijab during her time in Kuala Lumpur was because she wanted to visit the mosques in the city and engage with the locals. “They were so kind to me, they welcomed me with open arms. So I thought to myself, why don’t I learn more about the culture?” she told the host.
The influencer then spoke about the first time she learned to perform prayer, recalling her mistakes as she was still learning. However, despite her slip-ups, she described the experience as very spiritual, as she felt a weight had been lifted from her shoulders. “I was seeking help from something bigger and more powerful. I felt so light after praying, as if all my worries were slowly disappearing. From that first prayer, I started to pray daily,” she explained.
When asked if she had any advice for those interested in learning more about Islam, Rae suggested that they should travel to Muslim countries and interact with the locals. She also recommended visiting mosques and experiencing the culture with an open mind and heart. Of course, embracing Islam didn’t come without its challenges.

Unfortunately, Rae faced criticism from netizens who became aware of her past as an adult entertainer, with many pointing out that new X-rated films of hers were still being published by the studios she had worked with. She responded to those comments by clarifying that she hadn’t been active in the industry for a long time and that the companies had the rights to publish those videos whenever they wished.
Thankfully, most of her followers have been supportive of her new life. “They gave me gifts like dates, books, and prayer mats from Mecca. I cried a little bit because of how supportive they are and how they don’t judge me,” she said.
