Last year, Japanese adult actress Kae Asakura, famously known as Rae Lil Black (䙥), visited Malaysia and explored the city of Kuala Lumpur. During her visit, she was seen wearing the hijab and revealed in her livestream that she had bought five of them. Who knew that her experience here was just the beginning of her journey to Islam?
Since October 2024, the influencer has frequently been seen wearing the hijab in many of her TikTok posts, but for months, she did not clarify whether she had converted to Islam. It was not until this year that she finally confirmed the speculation about her religion, and she also paid another visit to Malaysia. Here’s her story:
Rae revealed in February that she had indeed converted to Islam, confirming that an interview about her journey would be published soon. Since then, she has been sharing her new life with her fans and celebrating her first Ramadan as a Muslim. The content creator also took the opportunity to travel back to Malaysia where she showcased herself visiting multiple mosques in the country.
The first mosque she visited was the Federal Territory Mosque, followed by the Sri Sendayan Mosque, and yesterday (Tuesday, 11th March), she visited the Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin Mosque (also known as the Iron Mosque) and the iconic Putra Mosque in Putrajaya. After performing the Terawih prayers last night, Rae had a proper dinner at a Nasi Lemak Burung Hantu restaurant, where she enjoyed, of course, nasi lemak.
Her journey, as well as her stay in Malaysia, has caught the attention of many locals, who have mostly shown her nothing but love and support for her new life. Some have even listed popular places for her to visit while she’s still in the country, while others have offered prayers that she will find peace and live a better life closer to God.
As for those who are sceptical about her conversion and bring up her past as an adult entertainer, the young star previously addressed the issue, saying that her former life is between her and God and that it’s no one else’s business but hers. May she overcome the challenges she faces and may she enjoy the rest of her stay in Malaysia.
