Live-action adaptations of popular video games don’t always turn out well, although a few — despite negative reviews — have gone on to become classics. Some adaptations aren’t necessarily bad, but they fail to do the games justice, so it’s easy to understand why fans are often wary whenever a film is announced based on an iconic title.
That said, there’s still a strong chance that the upcoming live-action adaptation of Street Fighter could turn out brilliantly. Here’s our first look at the film and its cast:

Earlier today (Friday, 12th December), the official Street Fighter YouTube channel released the first teaser for the live-action adaptation. The video, which first premiered at the recent 2025 Game Awards, offered fans a glimpse not only of the sets and overall tone of the upcoming film, but also of the cast members in full costume as the iconic characters from the game.
As seen in the screenshots above, it’s clear that this adaptation is staying true to its source material, with the costumes closely mirroring those from the video game. If you’re curious about the full main cast and the characters they are portraying, the official characters were also released the same day, giving fans a closer look at what they can expect. Here’s the complete list:
- Noah Centineo as Ken Masters
- Andrew Koji as Ryu
- Callina Liang as Chun-Li
- Roman Reigns as Akuma
- David Dastmalchian as M. Bison
- Cody Rhodes as Guile
- Andrew Schulz as Dan Hibiki
- Eric André as Don Sauvage
- 50 Cent as Balrog
- Jason Momoa as Blanka
- Orville Peck as Vega
- Olivier Richters as Zangief

The overall reaction to both the teaser and character posters has been mostly positive, with fans expressing excitement for the upcoming film. What do you think?
