A few months ago, fans were overjoyed when it was announced that “Camp Rock 3” is officially in the works, with Demi Lovato serving as executive producer. The studio also revealed both returning and new cast members who will appear in the upcoming sequel, and it has been confirmed that the Jonas Brothers will reprise their roles as Connect 3.
At the time, little was known about the plot or whether Demi would reprise her role. However, earlier today (Friday, 5th December), we finally got our first look at the highly anticipated film. Here’s what we know so far:
Disney+ has released the first teaser trailer for Camp Rock 3 across all its social media platforms. The clip features voice-overs taken from the first film while showcasing scenes of the camp, accompanied by the iconic duet, “Wouldn’t Change a Thing” from the second film, before finally revealing the Connect 3 brothers returning to the site.
The band begins reminiscing about the time they spent there before the teaser introduces the main cast members, which include Liamani Segura, Malachi Barton, Lumi Pollack, Hudson Stone, and Casey Trotter. Unfortunately, there is no sign of Demi Lovato in the teaser — but that is likely for the best for now, as this story will focus on a new generation of campers. So, what do we know about the plot so far?
According to the official synopsis, “the plot centres on Connect 3 losing their opening act for a huge reunion tour… which sends them straight back to Camp Rock in search of the next big star. As campers vie for the chance to open for their favourite band, tensions rise, and friendships are tested, leading to unexpected alliances, revelations and romances.” As for the roles the new cast members will be playing, Liamani Segura is cast as the bold and determined Sage, with Hudson Stone portraying her easygoing brother, Desi.
Lumi Pollack will play the cello prodigy Rosie, Casey Trotter takes on the role of aspiring drummer Cliff, and Malachi Barton plays the camp’s bad boy, Fletch. It is likely that Liamani and Malachi will serve as the love interests in this story, much like Demi and Joe in the first film. Are you excited for the upcoming 3rd instalment of “Camp Rock”?
