Hong Kong star Nicholas Tse (谢霆锋) has always been known for his strict self-maintenance, even vigorously working out for his movie roles. However, is the actor starting to let himself go in the looks department?
The 44-year-old recently shared a video of him on XiaoHongShu to promote a coffee product. In the video, Nicholas wore a blue striped shirt and his long hair was slicked back. While the actor still looked dashing, some netizens noticed many visible white hairs on his forehead and sides. They also spotted a few strands of white hair on his chin beard and moustache. Albeit small, this detail then prompted a mix of responses.
Many noted that the white hair is surprising for Nicholas, who is known for maintaining his looks and appearance. However, others argued that even the “ageless male god” couldn’t hide his age. However, despite the comments about his ageing looks, others said he’s still handsome. Some even said that the actor looks more masculine with his white hair and greying beard.
Nicholas isn’t the only “millennial heartthrob” who has received comments on their ageing looks. HK stars Shawn Yue (余文樂) and Edison Chen (陈冠希) both have been criticised by netizens for not maintaining their looks after turning 40. Some even said the two looked older than their age. Interestingly, some said Nicholas looked younger than most male actors his age, with a few saying he could even pass for someone in their 30s.
In related news, Nicholas recently sparked excitement after announcing additional dates for his upcoming concert. The “Evolution Nic Live” concert will be held at Hong Kong Kai Tak Sports Park from 24th until 27th April 2025. This concert marks the star’s first solo concert in 25 years. It’s also the first performance by an Asian artist at Kai Tak Stadium, which opened its doors earlier this month.
While Nicholas might have started showing signs of ageing, he doesn’t show any signs of slowing down. We can’t wait to see more of him on stage and screen soon.
