Outfit mishaps are bound to happen when you’re dancing your heart out for the fans. In a viral video taken at the Los Angeles “The Ruby Experience” concert last Saturday (8th March 2025), a fan managed to capture the moment where BLACKPINK Jennie’s (김제니) plunging V-neck causes a nip slip as she kneels to the ground.
The viral video has since garnered 17.3 million views on TikTok as fans flood the comment section, expressing their worries for the K-pop star’s image. Some defended Jennie, emphasizing that such accidents were inevitable during high-energy performances, while others criticised the stage outfit for being too risky.

Tiktok user (@/Maria Basque) commented, “The downfall of Jennie.. what’s wrong with her?”, highlighting that not everyone agrees with her new look. Going as far as to mention to bring the “old Jennie” back, fans have expressed their reluctance in supporting the K-Pop star as her new look for “Ruby” compromises of more revealing outfits falling short of the conservative nature.
The immediate backlash has since sparked online debate on double standards in the industry, with fans defending Jennie and her choices towards her own body. A fan commented, “So apparently kpop stans are fine with male idols showing their bodies … But god forbid a woman for showing skin”. Despite the incident, Jennie remained professional and continued performing without hesitation, earning praise for her composure on stage.

With “The Ruby Experience” still actively touring, Jennie has since sported a new outfit. Her most recent show in New York sparked positive reviews of her outfit changes throughout the night, with one particular outfit featuring a red corset top and American flag shorts being the centre of attention. While it’s unknown if the outfit change was due to the backlash, many said the red corset is a huge improvement from the previous white ensemble, adding that it looks better and is less revealing.
