Many fans have included their interest in real-life celebrations by holding themed parties. However, the franchises’ stars would rarely make a cameo at the event, so imagine how shocked these “The Lord Of The Rings” fans were when Elijah Wood showed up at their wedding at The Shire.
Earlier this week, the official TikTok account of the Hobbiton movie set, where the movie franchise took place, uploaded a heartwarming video of Elijah gate-crashing a fan’s wedding at the tourist attraction. The caption wrote, “POV: You’re getting married in The Shire and an unexpected guest crashes your wedding”. The wedding’s photographer revealed that she had invited the actor to surprise the couple after spotting him nearby during the event.
As shown in the video, the actor quietly entered the wedding garden, followed by a small camera crew to document the surprise. As soon as Elijah stepped out to the end of the aisle, the bride and the groom exclaimed, “Oh my God!”, alerting the wedding guests. Elijah then walked to the front to greet the newlyweds and share congratulations on their marriage. The three then posed for a photo while the other guests applauded.
Elijah also expressed amusement at the themed wedding, saying, “This is amazing, and everyone is dressed as Hobbits!”. Meanwhile, the star wore a simple outdoor jacket, a pair of jeans and a sneakers ensemble. The couple then thanked Elijah for surprising them at their wedding, before another fan approached the star for a selfie opportunity. After the quick cameo, Elijah left the scene so the couple could resume their wedding.
Fans and netizens have reacted to the viral video, mostly thrilled for the couple. Some jokingly expressed envy at the bride and groom, noting how lucky they were. Of course, fans also had to include some themed jokes, quipping that the actor was there to steal the rings. One particular comment even joked about Elijah being at a themed wedding, saying, “That’s like getting married in a church and Jesus walks in”.
