Usually, tech savvy people are easily gullible to scams and can pick up on things that may seem a little off or suspicious. With that being said, there were still cases of youth losing a lot of money after being fooled by manipulative scammers.
It’s not everyday we hear stories about an elderly person successfully scamming youngsters as it’s usually the other way around. That was what supposedly happened in this case where a group of men confronted a senior citizen who allegedly scammed them for their money. Watch:

Yesterday (Thursday, 1st February), Twitter user @/arfdy12 posted a video on his profile that was originally shared in an unspecified WhatsApp group chat. The video showed an elderly man being confronted by a group of young men inside, what appears to be, a McDonald’s outlet after he allegedly scammed them.
The original caption in the group chat reads, “Beware of this scammer. He’s extorting people’s money with so-called property deals. This took place in Johor Bahru. They call him ‘Zainal Traktor'”. As seen in the post above, the men behind the camera demanded ‘Zainal’ to return the money he scammed out of them.
Nervous after being caught, the elderly person tried to calm the victims down, claiming that he had an important business meeting with someone and while they were distracted, he slowly moved to the edge of his seat. Moments later, the old man got out of his seat and tried to flee the premises but unfortunately for him, he was not fast enough as the victims quickly stopped him from escaping.
The Twitter post went viral with most netizens being in disbelief that an elderly person (who is believed to be 80) would even consider scamming people for a living. Some suggested that this was not his first time being confronted, seeing as how he still managed to distract the victims before trying to run away.
Others joked that the alleged scammer should’ve faked a heart attack rather than flee as he wouldn’t have gone far due to his age. At the time of writing, there’s been no update on the incident but seeing how the old man was outnumbered, it’s safe to assume that he was not going anywhere but follow the victims to the police station.
