Malaysians can get very excited when one of our local talents collaborates with an international celebrity. Recently, iDOLLAs got a huge shock when DOLLA dropped a video of member Sabronzo doing the viral “Touch Challenge” with the global girl group KATSEYE.
Sabronzo is currently in Manila, Philippines, attending KATSEYE’s debut showcase tour. The group, jointly founded by HYBE Labels and Geffen Records, is a sextet composed of multinational members. They previously held a showcase tour in South Korea, receiving positive responses from the media and the public for their performances. As both DOLLA and KATSEYE are under the Universal Music Group, Sabronzo had the opportunity to meet the group during their event in the Philippines.
In celebration of the girls meeting in person, Sabronzo and KATSEYE members Lara Raj and Daniela Avanzini joined forces to do the “Touch Challenge”, featuring the girl group’s viral hit, “Touch”. In the video posted on DOLLA’s official Instagram account, the three singers were seen flawlessly dancing to the track, with Sabronzo taking centre stage. KATSEYE has previously done the challenge with other international celebrities, including NCT Wish member Yushi and “Emily In Paris” actress Ashley Park.
As expected, the video ignited an excited response from iDOLLAs and Malaysian K-pop fans. Many were shocked to see the girl groups collaborate, even calling it the “collab we never knew we needed”. Fans also noted how seamlessly Sabronzo blended in with the KATSEYE members, praising her for her visuals and dance skills. Many also hoped the interaction would open up more opportunities for the two groups to work together again.
Sabronzo shared more photos of her meeting with KATSEYE on her Instagram account. In her post, she also revealed that she met Korean-Vietnamese singer Han Sara and Indonesian influencer Gabriella Ekaputri. Like Sabronzo, Sara and Gabriella were invited to the debut showcase to represent their respective countries.
We were also pleasantly surprised to see the DOLLA x KATSEYE collaboration. We hope we can get more interactions between the two groups soon!
