Earlier this week, Demi Lovato and the Jonas Brothers made headlines when they staged a surprise reunion performance, delivering a medley of songs from their hit Disney Channel film “Camp Rock”. After wowing fans with “This Is Me”, the songstress and lead singer Joe Jonas performed their duet “Wouldn’t Change a Thing”, sending a wave of nostalgia through the crowd.
Since then, many have been curious about how the performance came together and who first proposed the idea for the surprise reunion. In a recent interview on the “Chicks in the Office” podcast, the pop star shared more behind-the-scenes details about the gig, as well as updates on her upcoming music.

When asked how the “Camp Rock” reunion performance came about, Demi revealed that it was Joe Jonas who called her to propose the idea. “He called me last week, ‘Hey, what are you doing on the 10th? We would love to have you perform “This Is Me” and “Wouldn’t Change a Thing”. You’ve been a huge part of our journey, and we would love to have you there.’ It was so nice — and it was healing for me too,” she told the hosts before adding that she immediately accepted the invitation to do the show.
She described the moment on stage as a full-circle experience, as they had first performed the songs together in the film. She added that the Jonas Brothers had visited her in her dressing room before the show, where they spent time catching up and got to know her husband, Jordan “Jutes” Lutes. The 32-year-old shared that they thanked her profusely for agreeing to do the performance with them. “It was just so thoughtful, and I felt very appreciated. It was really healing for us, and I loved it. Every second of it was so great,” she stated.

Aside from the surprise “Camp Rock” reunion, Demi Lovato also shared details about her upcoming album. “This era, I’m not taking myself too seriously. I’ve written about intense and heavy topics in past records, but when I went into the studio this time, I didn’t connect with the emotional songs I was writing. I’m not in a bad place anymore; I’m happy, and I’m in love,” she explained.
