Olympic winner Lee Zii Jia (李梓嘉) has been making headlines recently after winning the Bronze medal in a match against India’s world No. 22 Lakshya Sen at the Paris 2024 Olympics. The newly-ranked World No.7 has made his home country proud and is currently on the right track to earn his title as the next legendary player in Malaysia.
Of course, not everyone was happy about the 26-year-old’s win but if there’s anyone who should be upset about his victory, it would be his opponents. Apparently, one of his recent competitors was “not pleased” about his dreams of winning the Olympics being crushed by him.

Earlier this week, Danish badminton player Anders Antonsen posted an Instagram Story that would make anyone assume that he’s currently in his villain arc after losing to Lee Zii Jia for the spot in the Olympic semi-finals. The athlete posted a video of himself working out at the gym with a text caption that reads, “Dude just crushed my dreams. Why the hell am I working out in his T-shirt already?” referring to the Malaysian player.
Obviously, the 27-year-old was just joking as he and Zii Jia are apparently really good friends when they’re not on the court. The Kedah-born star even shared the Danish shuttler’s IG story on his account saying, “See you soon, my friend”. In an interview with the media, the Bronze medallist said that the two of them have played against each other in several tournaments and would always give their all to represent their respective countries.

Their friendship is truly an example of what sports is supposed to be. If you’re curious to know what Lee Zii Jia did after returning home, like the true Malaysian he is, he went out for Nasi Lemak with a friend as shown in his IG Story posted earlier today (Thursday, 8th August).
