Identity theft is not a joke – and it can be even more dangerous when your identity gets used to post harmful remarks online. That’s why this man is exposing the identity thief who has been using multiple identities to post hate comments about a recent murder victim.

Following the death of the young Zayn Rayyan, many comments have arisen regarding the case and his death. Unfortunately, amongst the many comments of grief were some unsavoury comments. However, Twitter user Amirul Afiq revealed that some of these comments were made by one identity thief who stole his photos – and the identity of several other public figures – to post his hateful comments.

Macam tak betul budak ni pic.twitter.com/dtIr0wfugA

Amirul took to Twitter to expose the face of the man who stole his images, who has allegedly been creating fake accounts on social media using Amirul’s image since 2021. The victim has noticed the man’s actions for some time and even blocked all his accounts – but that hasn’t stop the culprit. He also revealed that the man had used the identity of two other public figures, a well-known preacher and a celebrity chef.

Amirul did not reveal the man’s real name but believes the man is from Sabah. He also shared that he had received the culprit’s images directly from the man himself and was even on a video call with him to confirm his identity. Amirul revealed that he would lodge a report against the identity theft but urge the public to help report the fake accounts to avoid furhter misunderstandings.

Netizens have reacted to the post, mostly shocked at the harmful words of the identity thief. Many also question his sanity, given that the culprit has allegedly created multiple fake accounts since 2021. The posts also brought up the dangers of identity theft, especially from those who specifically use race and religion, as it could invoke racial conflicts.

The murder case of Zayn Rayyan is still under investigation. However, in recent developments, the police suspect that one individual could be behind the murder. Meanwhile, authorities and netizens have spoken against leaving negative remarks and speculations about the case, so if you see any slanderous comments about the case, do not engage and immediately report the users.
