You have to admit, Malaysians have always been curious to know what foreigners really think about our food. Thankfully, most of them have given many of our famous dishes very positive reviews.

Some even revealed how obsessed they are with food that even many Malaysians cannot stomach. Recently, this Columbian woman decided to try and review various Malaysian dishes in 1 video, and here’s what she thinks of them:

Actress and content creator Maria Legarda posted a Mukbang video on her TikTok channel where she tried different Malaysian food she bought from a Malaysian restaurant in Los Angeles, United States. The Latino TikToker started her video by trying the famous dessert Cendol (which she mispronounced as Sen-dol). “It’s kind of like boba [tea]. I don’t know about these green things but I like it,” she said.

Next, the “Night School” star tried the Mee Goreng Tek Tek and Char Kway Teow (also mispronounced as Char Kway Tu-ow) which she described to be spicy saying, “It has a kick. My upper lips are sweating”. The 31-year-old proceeded to dig into the beef rendang which for some reason was called the coconut beef steak in the video.

Finally, saving the best for last, the internet celeb ended her video by trying the famous Nasi Kandar Bungkus which reminded her of Tamales, a traditional Mesoamerican dish. She even asked her Malaysian followers in the States to invite her for dinner as she enjoyed every food she tried in the video.

After trying all the Malaysian food she ordered, Maria gave a 9/10 rating saying, “There wasn’t a single thing in there I didn’t love.” Although she mispronounced some of the dishes, Malaysian netizens still enjoyed her video and were glad that she appreciates the food. Some left more food recommendations for the TikToker to try in the future.

Since she likes the food, we’re also going to forgive her for not saying the names correctly (for now). Which food would you like to see Maria try in a future video?
