We’ve seen many celebrity lookalikes go viral, like the Vietnamese woman who looks like actress Faye Wong (王菲). However, this G.E.M (鄧紫棋) fan looks so much like the Hong Kong star, netizens say she can even replace the original!
Recently, a G.E.M fan, who goes by the username “Pretty Girl Xiao 7 (靓女小7)” on Douyin, shared several videos of her attending the Hong Kong singer’s concert. As fans typically would at concerts, this fan shared videos of her singing along to the performances. However, what surprised many was the fan’s striking resemblance to the singer, from having similar facial features to donning the same brunette hairstyle.
The fan’s videos quickly go viral, some even reaching millions of views. In the comments, netizens couldn’t help but point out her resemblance to the superstar. There were many amusing comments, like, “If you’re in the audience, who’s performing on stage?” and “G.E.M is watching G.E.M”. Some even noted that the two have similar sounding voices and singing styles, joking that the female fan could be a stand-in for the singer if she couldn’t go on stage.
Unfortunately, it’s unclear whether the fan had deliberately changed her appearance to match her idol’s. However, her Douyin account proves that she’s a huge fan of G.E.M and often does covers of the star’s songs. She has also gained a decent following for her looks and talents. Besides G.E.M, the fan has also covered Jay Chou (周杰倫) and JJ Lin’s (林俊傑) songs, earning her praise for her singing skills.
It’s unsure if G.E.M knew that her doppelganger was in the audience during her concert, but we’re sure she’ll be amused to learn so. In related news, the singer will perform in Kuala Lumpur tomorrow night (15th February 2025, Saturday) as part of her “I AM GLORIA” World Tour.
