The “TVB Anniversary Awards” returns for its 2025 edition, honouring the best of the best in Hong Kong drama in the past year. Unsurprisingly, “The Queen Of News 2 (新闻女王2)” won big at the ceremony, sweeping up nine awards, including the main acting prizes.
The “TVB Anniversary Awards 2025” was held on 4th January 2026 (Sunday) at the Grand Lisboa Palace Resort in Macau. The ceremony saw many winners, but the most anticipated category for the night was Best Actress. Charmaine Sheh (佘诗曼) ultimately won the award for “The Queen Of News 2”, beating other popular contenders, including Jessica Hsuan (宣萱).
Additionally, Charmaine set a new record by winning her fourth Best Actress award. In her acceptance speech, the actress said that she had “become one” with her character. She also thanked Man Wai-sum, a.k.a Sister Man, for everything the role has brought her. Charmaine also won the award for the Greater Bay Area’s Favourite TVB Actress.
Meanwhile, Charmaine’s co-star Bosco Wong (黄宗泽) won Best Actor and Greater Bay Area’s Favourite TVB Actor, triumphing over stars like Him Law (罗子溢) and Owen Cheung (張振朗). The actor was visibly moved and even teared up as he accepted his award. He also thanked TVB chairman Thomas Hui To (許濤) for investing in Hong Kong dramas during difficult times.
“The Queen of News 2” also won Best Drama and Greater Bay Area’s Favourite TVB Drama during the ceremony, highlighting the sequel project’s immense popularity. Matthew Ho (何廣沛) and Venus Wong (王敏奕) won Best Supporting Actor and Actress for their roles on the show, while Windy Zhan’s (詹天文) soundtrack for the show, “Seeds of Truth”, won Best Song.
