Being a globally-renowned idol isn’t all glitz and glamour, because as many stars have shared, it can expose you to some scary incidents involving stalkers and sasaengs (obsessive fans). Recently, BTS (방탄소년단) member Jungkook (정국) spoke up about his experience with sasaengs who tried to break into his home.
On 1st September 2025 (Monday), the idol held a Weverse live broadcast to commemorate his birthday. During the livestream, Jungkook addressed a recent home intrusion incident. According to reports, a Korean woman tried to break into his home on 31st August 2025 (Sunday) at around 11pm. She was arrested on the spot after the “Seven” singer reported her. The woman is currently under investigation.

Speaking about the incident, Jungkook said, “I was watching everything on my home CCTV. When I heard the police arriving, (the intruder) tried to rush out through the underground parking lot but was eventually caught.” He then lamented about sasaengs crossing the boundaries between idol and fan, saying, “She said she was my friend. ARMYs are like family and friends, but I had to make it clear—being supportive is one thing, but what’s wrong is wrong.”
The 28-year-old also added a stern warning to the public, saying, “If you come (to my house), I’ll lock you in. Everything is recorded as evidence, and you’ll be dragged away. If you step into my parking lot without my permission, you’ll be trapped until I open the door. CCTV is everywhere. Unless you want to end up at the police station, don’t ever come in.” Jungkook’s candid statement sparked debate, with many supporting him and condemning the intruder.

Sadly, the 31st August incident isn’t the first time someone has tried to break into Jungkook’s home. On 11th June 2025 (Wednesday), the day of his military discharge, a Chinese woman was arrested for attempting to trespass into his home. Neighbours reported the 30-something after catching her loitering in front of the premises late at night and pressing on the electronic key lock on the door.
With Jungkook addressing the incidents, fans are urging his agency HYBE to take serious action against sasaengs and prioritise their idols’ safety. Watch the clips of Jungkook talking about sasaengs below:
