Congratulations are in order for His Royal Highness Prince Abdul Mateen ibni Hassanal Bolkiah and his wife, Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Anak Isteri Anisha Rosnah binti Adam. The Bruneian royal couple recently welcomed their first child, a healthy baby girl.
The news was conveyed through Brunei’s national broadcaster, RTB News. According to reports, Princess Anisha safely gave birth to a daughter on 8th February 2026 (Sunday) at 8.50am. 17 cannon shots were fired from the compounds of Istana Nurul Iman in celebration of the birth.
Prince Mateen announced Princess Anisha’s pregnancy in October 2025, sharing a black and white photo of them through his Instagram account with the caption, “And then there were 3”. The couple tied the knot in January 2024 in an elaborate ten-day ceremony. They recently celebrated their second wedding anniversary.
Prince Mateen and Princess Anisha have yet to share the name of the newborn princess. However, netizens have shared congratulatory messages to the royal couple through social media. Many also hoped for a glimpse of the baby, noting that their daughter would inherit her parents’ good looks.
