In case you haven’t heard yet, it has been announced that the local horror movie “Pulau” is getting a sequel! Despite the controversy that the movie sparked before and after it premiered earlier this year, producer Fred Chong told the media that a sequel is currently in the works.
Since the second instalment of the horror movie has been confirmed, we were curious to know what the cast knows as well. Luckily, we caught up with one of the stars, Amelia Henderson, and asked her a few questions about what she hopes to see in the sequel.

Last night (Thursday, 7th April), actress and host Amelia Henderson shared with us what she hopes to see in the “Pulau” sequel. Without spoiling too much, the 27-year-old said, “From what I understand about the situation, one of the things I hope to see is the gang visiting different islands. I can’t really say too much ’cause I know too much so I don’t want to spoil anything for anybody”.
While the actress didn’t give away too many details about the sequel, she did share with us what she personally would like the audience to see more about her character, Kat, if she were to reprise her role in the sequel. “My character is very complex. I would love to see a little bit more of her backstory and how she developed her special gift. I think that would be really cool,” said the Studio Sembang host.
While it’s likely Amelia will play her character again, we’re looking forward to see some new faces in the “Pulau” sequel. According to producer Fred Chong, the second instalment will be a collaboration between Malaysian and Indonesian production. “There are already some actors including ones from Indonesia who have been shortlisted but it has not been decided yet,” he said.
Apart from that, it is understood that the sequel won’t be a continuation of the original script but rather a fresh work that’s subject to change as it’s currently in its early pre-production stages. “Pulau 2” is expected start filming next year. What do you hope to see in the sequel?
