Concerts are usually exciting, and you can always expect the unexpected during live performances. You may have witnessed artists doing something controversial that ended up in the cancellation of a music festival, or fans being invited on stage to perform alongside their idols.
It’s one thing to take a selfie or video with a singer performing in the background, but to have them hold up your phone and record themselves singing? Now that’s a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, and that’s exactly what happened to a fan at Akon’s recent concert.

Yesterday (Tuesday, 19th November), Senegalese-American singer Akon held his “The Superfan Tour” concert at Mega Star Arena. The superstar performed many of his hits, including “Lonely”, “Don’t Matter” and “Right Now (Na Na Na)”. At one point during the concert, the R&B artist stood on the barrier, being held by security to prevent him from falling, while many fans in the front row held up their phones for him to take a photo or video from his point of view.
One of those lucky fans happened to be local actor Harris Annuar. As seen in the screenshots above, Akon took his phone that was still recording and held it up showing himself performing on top of the barrier before handing it back to the owner. The actor then showed himself among the sea of crowd trying to get the same opportunity. “Okay, who wants to buy my phone? I’ll charge them T20 price!” he wrote in his captions.

After the video was posted, many were impressed that Harris Annuar managed to be one of the few lucky fans to capture the experience on film. A few were relieved that Akon didn’t get hurt, as they believed standing on the barrier, surrounded by excited fans, might not have been the safest thing to do.
