It is without a doubt that we Malaysians are born to love all types of food. While we love our nasi lemak, roti canai, laksa, and chicken rice, sometimes we crave for something different like Korean food. Be it spicy tteoppokki (rice cake), ramyun, or jjajangmyun (black bean noodles), we just want to eat them all!

Although there are many Korean restaurants around town, it’s not easy to find one that is halal. But fret not, because we have come up with a list of 7 halal Korean restaurants in Klang Valley to spoil you with choices.

You can thank us later 😉

1. Sweetree Restaurant @ Ampang

As one of the first few halal-certified restaurants in Malaysia, Sweetree Restaurant boasts high standards of ingredients and service. The eatery serves various types of Korean food such as kimchi jjigae, yuk gae jang (spicy beef and vegetable soup), bibimbap (Korean style mixed rice), as well as regional delights like Vietnamese pho and tom yum. Besides that, they have a culture centre on the 3rd floor and it is specially established for cultural and private activities.

Note: Sweetree’s Ramadan Buffet, which ends at 22nd June 2017, is priced at RM48 per adult and RM25 per child.

According to blogger Chasing Food Dreams, Lee, who is very health conscious, opened his own eatery because he wants to provide msg-free food to the public.

Owned by a local, Gangnam Station is a humble joint that was featured on TV3’s popular food programme, “Jalan Jalan Cari Makan”. This place is a great gathering spot for families and big groups as they offer large yet affordable combo sets. Their must-tries are the bulgogi with potato noodles, the haemul jeongol (seafood casserole), and the dakgogi bokkeum (spicy stir-fried chicken). Yum ?

Also, Gangnam Station’s 2nd outlet is located at The 19 USJ City Mall.

Mr. Dakgalbi specialises in dakgalbi – a popular Korean dish made by stir-frying marinated chicken in a gochujang (chili pepper paste) based sauce on a hot plate. While it is usually served with sliced cabbage, onions, and tteok (rice cake), cheese lovers can opt for the cheese ring. Ooey gooey melted cheese and spicy chicken are the perfect combination for a satisfying meal.
