#Travel: Stay Connected With Samsung Galaxy Note 5 In South Korea – For Free

One of the biggest gripes about travelling is the struggle to stay connected while being away from home. Sure, there’s data roaming but there’s also always the fear of accidentally incurring crazy charges.

There are also portable WiFi services but those need to be booked and picked up ahead of time, and something extra to take care of/keep charged on the trip. And of course, there’s such a thing as prepaid SIM cards but trying to get it to function in a country where there’s a language barrier could be frustrating.

Enjoy Mobile Korea For Free

Luckily, travellers to Korea will have one less thing to worry about because they can now rent a Samsung Galaxy Note 5 and stay connected while they’re out and about without having to hunt down and camp out at free WiFi areas. Besides, sometimes that Instagram post just can’t wait.

The Korea Tourism Organization (KTO), Samsung, and SK Telecom (one of the biggest telco companies in Korea) have announced a collaboration to provide international visitors to Korea with a free smartphone rental experience under the “Enjoy Mobile Korea For Free” campaign. Yes, free!

How does it work?

Through a series of screening evaluations, chosen participants will be offered free rental of a Samsung Galaxy Note 5 (limited to 5 days use) that includes free data, voice calls, incoming calls (international outgoing calls excluded), and SMS messages.

It’s really convenient too because selected participants just need to collect and return the rental phone at the SK Telecom Roaming Center located at Level 1 of Incheon International Airport upon arrival or departure.

And that’s not all! In addition, KTO’s travel and tourism mobile application (VisitKorea) is also installed to make travelling Korea more convenient for tourists to access useful information such as themed travel, directions, discount coupons, and more.

Eh, sounds like the perfect stress-free holiday to us 🙂

The campaign kicked off on 15th March and will be in effect until 31st December this year. Travellers who are interested may apply directly via the official website.
