Ah, staycations. We love quick getaways, we love staycations, we love anything holiday-related all day errday. Even better when it has got a beautiful accomodation to boot, because it adds to the staycation experience.

If you remember, we’ve previously highlighted some unique Airbnb stays in Malaysia. Now, let’s take a quick look at (what we think are) 10 beautiful boutique hotels in Malaysia worth staycation-ing at!

1. M Boutique Hotel

In 2013, Ipoh welcomed the M Boutique Hotel, an accomodation that prides itself in being a small, whimsical home away from home. Stylized compact is their signature, having taken great pain to infuse both Malaysia’s Colonial past and modern urban décor. M Boutique Hotel 93 chic yet urban Straits Eclectic rooms, replicating much of the pre-war shop houses found in the Straits Settlements, with a wicked twist.

The Yard Boutique Hotel in Bukit Bintang, Kuala Lumpur offers a stylish colonial house accomodation experience that’s a toss between the modern and the old. Clove Hall

Clove Hall is a private Edwardian Anglo-Malay bungalow located in a quiet residential street. Built on the site of a former coconut and clove plantation, the house has been restored and converted, featuring 6 individual suites with wooden floors, 4 poster beds, mosquito nets, and ceiling fans. The main hall is furnished with colonial and Peranakan-inspired décor and has black and white floor tiles, inlaid glass windows and etched glass light shades. The grounds have been transformed into a sultry tropical garden and a tranquil green-tiled swimming pool is nestled into it.

Hotel Penaga was originally 3 rows of double storey terraced houses and shophouses, built probably in the 1920s and renovated post-war.
