Have you visited Tiffin At The Yard lately? If you haven’t, then this is a sign to drop by NOW!

Housed in the iconic Sentul Depot, which has a history dating back to 1905, Tiffin At The Yard aims to give creative and independent, home-grown epicurean talents a solid place to thrive in the heart of the city. And this year, KL’s culinary playground has unveiled a bigger and bolder line-up of F&B brands for the rest of the year – good news for restauranteurs and chefs, great news for foodies.

Proudly serving independent, homegrown food and drinks, Tiffin At The Yard continues to bring together a progressive line-up of independent food businesses that span cuisines, countries, and continents, including some of the most exciting names in the Klang Valley, all under one roof. So be prepared for a range of spanking new experiences and offerings, such as breakfast weekends, extended operating hours, a magazines & games corner, BBQ and collaboration pop-ups, new unique food vendors, customized cocktails, thematic evenings and more!

Here are the new kids at the yard that we checked out during a recent visit:

Alta Burger

If you’re craving some really good burgers, Alta is the spot to check out.

These tiny burgers are sensational and without a doubt, among the best burgers you can find in KL. Their signature Alta beef burger is an absolute joy, with lip-smacking flavours and irresistible juiciness that will keep you coming back for more. Each bite practically melts in your mouth, and the straightforward but perfectly balanced flavours will enthrall you. Be prepared to have messy hands – but trust me, it will be worth it. You can also try their chicken burger, which is equally good – but obviously, we loved the beef burgers more.

Hi, Hyatt! Malaysia's First Park Hyatt Hotel Opens At Iconic Merdeka 118

Pulp x Breakfast Room

Pulp brews one of the finest specialty coffees in town, and they’re so excited to be back at Tiffin At The Yard! The beloved coffee brand is located just a short distance from the Breakfast Room kiosk.

As they serve you a beautiful cup of coffee and satisfy your caffeine cravings, they fill the air with the pleasant scent of roasting coffee beans that’ll leave you wanting more. You can trust Pulp to brew you a delicious cup of coffee. And Pulp proves that you can have a cuppa at any time of day. As for nosh, enjoy your favourite brekkie dish for lunch and dinner too. With a range of alternatives, including the renowned, locally-inspired Nasi Lemak French Toast and your go-to breakfast options, the Breakfast Room is by your side as you take that first refreshing sip of coffee.

The Chicken Club

You can never go wrong with fried chicken, especially when they’re made by Gary Anwar of Michelin-listed, ember. The Chicken Club serves koji-breaded chickens that are juicy, umami bombs, mashed potatoes and coleslaw. The Chicken Club was started because they wanted to do something that’s not too fancy or complicated. Basically, they wanted to deliver good quality fried chicken. And that’s what we got.

The fried chicken was perfecto! Crispy and juicy, we enjoyed every bite. As for the mashed potato, it was good, but there were some crunchy bits in it. We’re guessing they intentionally made it that way, but it would have been better if it was really smashed up to a smoother consistency.

Toko Makan Maharaja

A master of Asian street-food cuisine!

Toko Makan Maharaja serves you the best Asian street food, from tosses and fiery sizzles in the wok to a gorgeous presentation on your plate. They have quite an extensive menu of Thai cuisine, including Khao Phat, Thai Red Curry, Pad See Ew and Pad Thai. There’s also Char Kway Teow, which we heard is really good, and Smoked Fried Chicken.

Based on a recommendation, we went with the Thai Red Curry. It’s a gorgeous, fragrant, and creamy curry with a powerful depth of Thai flavours. The curry is cooked with broth, coconut milk and contains a variety of flavours, including those from roasted chillies, garlic, galangal, kaffir lime leaves, prawn paste, lime and Thai palm sugar. It’s served with rice or noodles and you can choose from chicken or tiger prawn.

We absolutely love this curry. It’s rich, flavourful, and sweet. It had a hint of spiciness of course, because what’s Thai food without a dash of spiciness? This is definitely a must-try and one of our favourite dishes among the new vendors at Tiffin.

Auntie Tok

If you don’t have dessert(s), it’s definitely an incomplete meal!

Experience nostalgia with all things sirap! Auntie Tok serves a variety of shaved ice desserts drizzled with homemade sirap. They come in two options: milk-based and lime-based. Under milk based, you can check out ais kepal sirap susu, ais koko, ais jagung, ais cincau and their best seller, the classic ais kacang. Of course, we went with the good ole’ ais kacang.

It was definitely refreshing after a hearty meal. They had cincau, corn, red bean, a drizzle of chocolate sauce and, not forgetting, their famous homemade sirap sauce drizzled all over.
