“Where romance meets finance”, its tagline reads.

Have you heard of TheSugarBook? It’s essentially a website that opens up possibilities for “Sugar Relationships” aka a relationship where both parties define what they want in a relationship in exchange for financial support. Most times this consists of a male/female who are eligible of financial backing in exchange for love and companionship.

Source: Google

First launched in December 2016, the website, which promises to be “a nice social networking platform where likeminded consenting adults can connect and form mutually beneficial Sugar Relationships in a safe online environment” currently has an approximately 55,000 active members and it is continuously growing. TheSugarBook also champions “honesty and transparency when it comes to developing Sugar Relationships”.

Here are some staggering facts about TheSugarBook that you probably weren’t aware of:

  • According to TheSugarBook, of the estimated members on the platform, around 70% are female Sugar Babies between the age of 19 – 35 years old and mainly university students and single mothers and divorcees.
  • The Sugar Daddies (usually are well established wealthy individuals who are driven and enjoy “the finer things in life”) range from 30 – 48 years old, with an annual income average of USD150,000 (over RM500,000).
  • The top 5 countries where their members are from Malaysia, Philippines, United States, Singapore, and India.
  • Anyone above the age of 18-years old can register for an account on TheSugarBook for free and female Sugar Babies who sign up with their college or university email gets an auto-upgrade to Premium Sugar Baby.
  • For a small fee, Sugar Daddies can also enjoy the Premium features where they have the privilege of unlimited messages, see who favourites you or has viewed your profile, advanced search filter and many more.

And that’s not all. They’ve also recently launched their iOS and Android app, which claims to help members “build legitimate relationships with benefits” that much easier. Interestingly, the app was developed by one Endeavor Standard Sdn. Bhd. located somewhere in Petaling Jaya, Selangor – yes, a Malaysian company.

Whether or not you think that it’s morally correct to engage in the activities of sugar babies/sugar daddies, TheSugarBook aims to acquire more than 100,000 users from all over the world by mid-2018.
