Starhill Gallery, located in the heart of Kuala Lumpur’s most famous shopping belt (Bukit Bintang), will finally make a comeback next year after going through a major rebranding.
The mall is currently undergoing a massive renovation, but it will be reopened next year with a brand new look and a sexier name, “The Starhill – Home of The Tastemakers.”
Based on their website, “The Starhill will be the new visionary monument of modern luxury in Kuala Lumpur offering the best of experiential retail in an intimate boutique environment that exudes elegance and sophistication. Shoppers will enjoy a refined home-like ambience that is infused with warm hospitality and stylish aesthetics of true Tastemakers for every of our touch points.”
The iconic mall will be looking to add a variety of high-end stores and outlets ahead of their reopening in the first quarter of 2021, including several exclusive flagship stores such as Balmain, Tom Ford, Stefano Ricci, Phillip Plein and more. Existing tenants will also be reopening with fresh new looks and concepts to better serve their clients.
For food connoisseurs out there, the lower ground floor of the mall will allow you to indulge in a sophisticated culinary experience to satisfy your taste-buds. According to a local portal, the list of restaurants include Shook!, Luk Yu Tea House, The Alchemy bar, Jogoya, and Tarbush Lounge.
YTL Land and Development Berhad vice president Joseph Yeoh explained, “Our transformed boutique mall presents four floors of a premium retail environment, designed to defy the ever-prevalent cookie-cutter mall trend and to offer every visitor more meaning, authenticity and connection.”
Yeoh added that the renovation timeline faced challenges following the Movement Control Order (MCO) back in March, but they managed to catch up despite the delays. The mall is located in Bukit Bintang between Pavilion KL and Fahrenheit 88, and had started its transformation process after announcing their rebranding in October 2019.
With things not looking too great this year, let’s hope that 2021 will be a better year for us, so we can all indulge in this whole-new shopping experience.
