“The Sound of Music” is one of the best musicals of all time. Who can forget the angelic voice of Julie Andrews singing “Do Re Mi” and “Something Good”. The younger generation have Ariana Grande to thank for introducing them to the musical as she sampled “Favourite Things” in her song “7 Rings”.

About The Production
The legendary musical will be produced by Broadway International Group, Simone Genatt and Marc Routh and presented by Base Entertainment Asia. “The Sound of Music” will be staged and entertain audience at the iconic Istana Budaya.
“It is huge for Malaysia to be having its first international musical after a 2.5 years hiatus because of the pandemic. Now with the brand-new Broadway production, we are taking arts and live entertainment in Malaysia to another level by bridging local and Broadway talent on an international platform,” said Datuk Jared Lim, Chairman of Base Entertainment Asia.
This critically acclaimed original production is directed by three-time Tony Award winner and Broadway veteran Jack O’Brien and is based on the NETWorks Presentations National Tour, which has been entertaining audiences across the US for more than 3 years. That’s how big this production is.

If you have children or younger relatives, now’s their chance to audition to play the roles of the six younger von Trapp children, Friedrich, Louisa, Kurt, Brigitta, Marta and Gretl. Those who wish to audition must first fit certain criteria to perform in the musical.
