“The Package Is Me”: Customer Uses Lalamove To “Deliver Themselves” To Destination

E-hailing services have helped ease our daily lives when travelling to places without worrying about parking as fares can sometimes be quite expensive depending on the destination and traffic. This customer, however, thought they could opt for a cheaper way to travel.

Rather than using an e-hailing service, the customer decided to try delivering an “item” to a specific location with that item actually being themselves. Here’s what happened:

https://twitter.com/pedoqpop/status/1712075603812429841

Yesterday, Twitter page @pedoqpop posted a screenshot of a customer using the Lalamove app requesting a car to “deliver” a package from Taman Mayang, Petaling Jaya to Hicom Glenmarie Industrial Park. The total cost for the delivery was RM 11.10. What was unusual about this particular delivery pickup was that the package was actually the customer themselves.

In the notes section, the customer wrote, “The package I want to deliver is actually myself. Can I catch a ride in your car to the destination?”. The tweet drew a lot of attention from netizens with most being amused by the delivery order. Many praised the customer for their creativity saying that modern problems require modern solutions.

Others actually pointed out that the customer saved RM4 for the “delivery” as a Grab ride to the destination would cost them RM15 or more. Some shared that they’ve done the same thing as Grab rides to their destinations were expensive at the time or there were no drivers to pick them up. One netizen who claimed to be a Lalamove driver actually “delivered” a customer on their first day of work.

Unfortunately, there were no updates on whether the original poster managed to catch a ride with a Lalamove driver but it’s nice to know that there are some out there willing to accept the job.

Have you used Lalamove as an e-hailing service?
