BTS’ Jimin Takes Part In The #SorryJungIn Campaign On Social Media

If you’re on Twitter, you may have come across the hashtag “#SorryJungIn” which is currently trending online.

This came following the recent broadcast of SBS’s ‘Unanswered Questions’, which covered the tragic news of an adopted child named Jung In (정인).

The baby unfortunately left the world last year in October after suffering from severe damage to the pancreas and other major organs. It was also discovered that her limbs and collarbones were broken and she was suffering from gastrointestinal bleeding as a result of the injury!

Shockingly, it was revealed by the investigative journalism programme that the poor child was repeatedly abused by her adopted parents. The investigations revealed that they had regularly assaulted Jung In physically multiple times. Not only that, the father and mother also had abused her mentally by neglecting and leaving the child all alone inside their car or house.

The 16-month-old baby’s day care teacher and paediatrician had suspected a possible case of child abuse. However, their reports to the authorities were ignored three times. The culprits, only known by their surnames Jang and Ahn, were later arrested by the Seoul Yangcheon Police Office on 13th October 2020.

Many netizens were completely infuriated after the tragic reports came to light. A lot of them took to Twitter to express their grief over the loss of Jung In. Others also trended the hashtag “#SorryJungIn” to voice out their regret for not being able to protect the baby.

Just when we thought the case was close, a petition was launched online to fight for Jung In’s justice and also to spread awareness about child abuse cases. Additionally, Jimin from BTS also took to Weverse to showcase his support towards the movement.

They took her childhood.
They took her youth
They took her smile
They took her tears of happiness
They got her good day.
They took away her dreams
They took her breath away
They took her life.
They took her life. #SorryJungin#정인아_미안해 pic.twitter.com/uiu6qBHzHB
