Craving For Thai? Try Baan Phadthai When You Visit Pavilion KL

When one thinks Thai, it’s the usual fare of tomyam and green curry. However, there is so much more to Thai cuisine than just your usual favs. If you’re a fan of Thai food, we’ve got a place you simply must try. Meet Baan Phadthai.

Baan Phadthai is a newly opened Thai restaurant located in Pavilion Kuala Lumpur. As the name suggests, Baan Phadthai’s specialty is their Thai noodle dish the “phadthai”. Originally from Bangkok, Baan Phadthai decided to expand their eatery globally. This restaurant is the first of its kind in Malaysia.

So, what’s so special about Baan Phadthai? Well, their mains are obviously phadthai, with their Phadthai Jumbo Mud Crab (RM158) and Phadthai Jumbo Goong Mae Nam (RM98) being highly recommended. These two phadthai are certainly a delight for seafood lovers as they come with crab and lobster meat respectively. However, there are vegetarian, chicken and beef options for those who aren’t keen on seafood.

Aside from their mains, there are also plenty of starters to help you get tucked into your meal. Of course, there are the usual servings such as Kai Twat (deep fried chicken wings) (RM19). But, there are definitely some dishes on the menu which you should get.

Personally, we suggest ordering the Tao Hoo Tawt (deep fried tofu with taro, chestnuts and peanuts) (RM15) and Nuea Ping (grilled beef skewers) (RM27) to go with your meal. The flavourful beef with its unique sauce is a great way to start the meal. The Tao Hoo Tawt on the other hand, adds a nice balance to the Phadthai with its crunchy and savoury fare. For an easy appetizer, the Miang Khanna (RM24) would be your go-to as it allows you to pick and choose ingredients for a wrap. However, for the full experience, we do recommend trying a bit of everything!

For a finisher, their desserts are a must. Baan Phadthai has the usual mango sticky rice and coconut ice cream. But for the more adventurous, we suggest giving their Tub Tim Krob (RM15) and Bua Loy Pueak (RM15) a shot. Their Tub Tim Krob promises a smoky yet sweet treat thanks to a mix of ruby water chestnut and smoked coconut syrup. However, if you’re a fan of coconut milk and butterfly pea, then the Bua Loy Pueak is definitely for you.
