It’s easy to make promises, but it can be much harder to keep them. However, Hong Kong actress Stephy Tang (邓丽欣) has no such qualms. The actress recently fulfilled a conditional promise she had made to her fans, much to their delight and surprise.
Stephy’s latest film “Table For Six (饭戏攻心)” has been doing well since its release in September. But, there just may be a reason for that. As it turns out, Stephy promised fans she would release photos of herself in a swimsuit if its box office hit over 60 million Hong Kong dollars (~RM36 million)!
The comedic “Table For Six” was initially supposed to be released earlier this year (2022). However, due to the pandemic, it was postponed to 8th September. Still, Stephy apparently had a good feeling about the show. Stephy had predicted that its box office would surpass 60 million Hong Kong dollars.
She then said she would post a photo of herself in her swimsuit to thank the audience, if it came true. However, she later added that she would postpone uploading the photos, stating she would do so when the box office surpassed 70 million Hong Kong dollars (~RM42 million).
Well, the movie has since surpassed its first goal and is well on its way to hitting 70 million Hong Kong dollars. As such, Stephy recently fulfilled her side of the bargain by posting the promised photos on her 39th birthday. The photos showed her posing by some rocks wearing a deep V-cut swimsuit.
“As the saying goes, it’s not good to (spend) the New Year (and) birthday in debt. So, I will pay off my debt on my birthday,” Stephy wrote in her caption. “I can rest in peace after my birthday.” However, the actress added that they were still working towards their goal of reaching 70 million. She also encouraged her fans to watch the film.
Stephy rarely posts photos of herself in a swimsuit. A such, it wasn’t a surprise to see her post reaching over 90,000 likes. However, some fans did tease Stephy for posing in the distance. “(My) two fingers are tired from enlarging (the photos),” one quipped.
Well, that was certainly one way to celebrate her birthday! We too would like to wish Stephy a happy belated birthday and hope she’ll post more swimsuit photos in the future!
