Local singer-actress Elizabeth Tan is not one to usually respond to negative comments. The starlet previously shared that as long as her safety is not being threatened, she prefers not to engage in trivial matters on social media. That said, like anyone else, harsh words can still sting, and if she were to retaliate against the negativity, it would be entirely understandable.
It appears that one particular comment from a netizen caught Elizabeth’s attention. However, rather than clapping back, the singer chose to apologise for causing any discomfort. Here’s what happened:

Earlier this week, a Threads user going by @/matcha.tehijo expressed frustration over Elizabeth Tan’s singing, writing: “Can someone tell Elizabeth Tan to stop singing? Hurts my ears, goddammit.” As seen in the screenshots above, he didn’t tag the artist and was simply sharing his opinion. However, much to everyone’s surprise, the 31-year-old, fondly known as Lizzy, responded to the post with a simple: “Sorry 😢”.
The Threads user promptly replied, saying he forgave the celebrity and encouraged her to continue pursuing her acting career, adding that he’s a fan of her work as an actress. As expected, fans were quick to rally behind the star, reassuring her that she had nothing to apologise for. Many offered words of encouragement, urging her to keep doing what she loves, especially since she began her career as a recording artist before transitioning into acting.

As for @/matcha.tehijo, he didn’t appear particularly remorseful, based on his replies to comments under his original post. At the end of the day, his opinion holds little weight. Elizabeth Tan has every right to pursue her career as she sees fit, and negative comments have never stopped her before. In fact, she previously shared her intention to produce and release a full-length album for herself, regardless of what anyone else thinks.
