Have you checked out the “Single’s Inferno” season 4 (솔로지옥4) lineup? If you’re familiar with him, you’ve undoubtedly been captivated by Theo Jang (장태오), the star of the programme. It’s hard to take your eyes off a man this attractive, but did you know he once starred in a Malaysian film?
Jang has quickly made a name for himself in the creative industry and we can see him working hard at it! The 31-year-old has appeared in K-dramas such as “The King of Tears” and “Miss Independent Ji Eun”, playing supporting roles in both series. However, his biggest role is close to home for us Malaysians.

Last year, Malaysia released its first-ever anti-scam film in collaboration with the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) to raise awareness about dating scams. The film was titled “Oppa”, marking the actor’s debut in an international production. It was a huge hit, even earning a rating of 8.5 out of 10 on IMDb! In “Oppa”, Theo Jang plays the man of a primary school teacher’s dreams, whom she meets online – unaware that she is falling victim to a syndicated love scam.
Following the release of the film, the 31-year-old officially established himself as an award-winning actor, winning the Best Foreign Language Film Actor Award at the Macau International Film Festival in 2024. His performance in “Oppa” was truly remarkable, and how could anyone forget a face like his? However, it seems his acting career is far from over. Rumours suggest the star will be playing a major role in an upcoming Filipino film, though no details have been confirmed yet.

While we wait for more updates on his upcoming film projects, here’s the trailer for “Oppa”. Hopefully, we’ll get to see it one more time once it’s available for streaming.
