In the realm of reality television, few shows have captivated audiences as intensely as Netflix’s South Korean dating series, Single’s Inferno 4 (솔로지옥). The programme, which strands singles on a deserted island with opportunities to escape to a luxurious hotel known as “Paradise,” has become a cultural phenomenon.

Among the various relationships that have blossomed in the show’s latest season, the connection between Kook Dong-ho (국동호) and Kim A-rin (김아린) has particularly intrigued fans, sparking widespread dating rumours. With keen-eyed fans analysing their online interactions, the question remains—are they truly dating, or is it simply a close friendship?

Throughout the series, viewers observed a palpable chemistry between Kook Dong-ho, a 30-year-old accountant, and Kim A-rin, a 25-year-old commercial model. Their interactions were marked by genuine affection and shared experiences, leading many to speculate about the nature of their relationship beyond the confines of the show.

The speculation intensified when Kook Dong-ho shared a photo featuring himself and Kim A-rin on his social media platform. This post ignited discussions among netizens, with many interpreting it as a subtle confirmation of their off-screen romance. Some noted that the duo had been liking each other’s posts and even shared similar Polaroid photos, further fuelling the dating rumours.

The potential off-screen romance between Kook Dong-ho and Kim A-rin has elicited a range of reactions from fans. While many are thrilled at the possibility of their favourite on-screen couple continuing their relationship in real life, others urge caution, suggesting that the social media interactions could be related to collaborative projects or content creation.

The two contestants have yet to address the rumours – but is their relationship is just a gimmick or a real thing? What do you think?
