It’s not unusual for fans to be curious about their favourite celebrities’ dating lives, particularly when it comes to what they seek in a partner. Some have been very open about their preferences, while others remain silent. HOLLAND (홀랜드) is one of the few openly gay Korean celebs, and since his debut in 2018, fans have been curious about the type of men he is attracted to.
Surprisingly, despite being very open and comfortable with his sexuality, the singer has actually never disclosed that information until very recently. Unfortunately, the response to his revelation was not all that positive. Here’s why:
Last night (Monday, 28th October), HOLLAND tweeted about a recent discovery he made about himself. The idol shared that he has finally figured out the type of men he is attracted to, stating, “Since my debut, many people have asked me about my ideal type, but I could never answer. I didn’t really know myself, but now I do. Now I know what kind of person I like.”
In a follow-up tweet, the “Number Boy” artist revealed his preference by naming the leader of a popular K-pop group. “Keeho, P1Harmony. I’ll settle on Keeho,” he wrote. The revelation was not entirely surprising as the singer is known to be a fan of the boy group member for a while, according to a post back in April 2023. Normally, netizens would be excited or express the same sentiment whenever their idols shared this kind of information. However, in HOLLAND’s case, he received mostly the opposite reaction.
Scrolling through the replies and quotes, many warned the 28-year-old to back off from having a crush on Keeho (기호). Others recalled the time the queer celebrity remained neutral regarding the genocide in Palestine. A few even pointed out that he is still friends with soloist Hyuna (현아), who has faced significant backlash due to her relationship with former HIGHLIGHT/BEAST (하이라이트/비스트) member Yong Junhyung (용준형).
