Should Deadpool Replace Stan Lee In Upcoming Marvel Movie Cameos?

One of the things that made Marvel fans look forward to watching a Marvel movie is seeing the expectedly unexpected cameo appearance of comic legend Stan Lee, which has become a cherished tradition.

But since Lee is no longer around (though he will always stay in his fans’ hearts), fans have started discussing ways to preserve his tradition and keep his cameos going, and one surprising idea is rapidly rising in popularity.

I’m for it

Specifically, many fans have agreed to let Deadpool, the talkative mercenary played by Ryan Reynolds, to take over the cameo tradition for future MCU movies. Some even suggests that the Merc with a Mouth should also wear Lee’s iconic sunglasses, along with a gray wig and mustache as a clear nod to Lee.

Though the idea does seem like a sweet way to pay homage to Lee, not everyone is fond of it. Some fans aren’t very keen on anybody taking the reins from Stan Lee for the trademark cameo, much less a character Lee wasn’t specifically involved with the creation of.

Also, even though with the Disney/Fox deal on the horizon, this should soon be manageable from a legal perspective. But Marvel hasn’t said anything about this – it’s all fan chatter.

Nevertheless, we still haven’t seen the last of Lee’s cameos. Prior to his passing, the Marvel co-founder had already filmed his special appearances in several upcoming Marvel movies including “Captain Marvel”, “Avengers 4″ and Spider-Man: Far From Home”

As “Avengers: Infinity War” co-director Joe Russo explained earlier this year, Lee’s cameos tend to be filmed in bulk, so fans will likely get to see Lee appear in other upcoming MCU films as well.

Also, let’s not forget Stan Lee’s next big screen cameo is only a few days away with the animated sequel “Ralph Breaks the Internet”.

So what do you think about the idea of having Deadpool replacing Stan Lee? Let us know in the comments!
