Ella Chen (陳嘉樺) is a member of Taiwanese girl group S.H.E., a talented actress, a loving wife, and an excited mother-to-be!
The 35-year-old singer recently took to Facebook to announce her pregnancy with photos of her pregnancy tests, saying that she is expecting her first child with her husband Alvin Lai, who is a Malaysian.
In her caption, Ella wrote (translation):
“I want to tell everyone loudly, ‘I am pregnant!’ When I first found out I was more ‘startled’ than ‘surprised’, everything was so sudden, I sat on the sofa for quite a while before it sank in. Thanks for the wishes guys, we are going to be a family of 4 (daddy, mummy, pudding (pet), and baby). I feel very, very, very happy.”
Fellow S.H.E. member Selina Jen (任家萱) congratulated her on social media. “I’m going to cry! I’m an aunt,” she said.
On Sunday (23rd October), Ella confirmed that she was in her 2nd trimester, adding that she would reveal the baby’s gender at the launch of her single on Friday (28th October).
Ella Chen and Alvin Lai tied the knot on 5th May 2012, at a glamorous wedding ceremony in Taipei. The reception was attended by Hebe Tien and Selina Jen, along with other celebrity friends such as Barbie Hsu and Jerry Yan.
