Shangri-La Kuala Lumpur: Feast On Lunar New Year Dishes At Shang Palace Restaurant

The Lunar New Year is coming soon—and fast! As we all know, dining culture holds great importance to the holiday, with specific dishes bringing special meanings to the table. If you’re still looking for a place to bring your family out for lunch or dinner during the celebration, look no further.

Shang Palace at Shangri-La Kuala Lumpur presents a Chinese New Year dining experience, curated by Executive Sous Chef Chew Tai Beh, where the menu features luxurious Yee Sang, classic Chinese delicacies, and also festive set menus.

All of these are crafted to bring prosperity and joy, which will be available from the 6th of January to the 12th of February 2025. This sophisticated setting is ideal for family, friends, or business celebrations.

Each dish is specially designed to bring prosperity and joy, offering a refined dining experience that perfectly captures the spirit of the season. Set in the heart of Kuala Lumpur, Shang Palace provides an ideal setting for an unforgettable celebration with loved ones.

Yee Sang Selections

During the jubilant festivities of Chinese New Year, Yee Sang takes centre stage as a symbolic culinary masterpiece, with each ingredient carrying profound meaning. Shang Palace offers four exquisite varieties of Yee Sang for both dine-in and takeaway:

  • Abalone with Caviar Yee Sang
  • Smoked Scottish Salmon Yee Sang
  • Crispy Salmon Skin and Jellyfish Yee Sang
  • Korean Winter Snow Pear Yee Sang

For an elevated experience, the Auspicious Yee Sang combines 2-head abalone, Hokkaido scallops, poached lobster, and Scottish smoked salmon. This luxurious combination of premium ingredients embodies opulence, vitality, joy, and unity in every bite. A range of premium add-ons is also available to personalise your dish. Yee Sang prices start from RM148 nett.

Indulge in Shang Palace’s meticulously crafted Lunar New Year set menus, offering a truly memorable dining experience for the auspicious Lunar New Year. Choose from eight or nine-course menus, such as Great Prosperity, Immense Wealth, and more, each thoughtfully designed to capture the essence of the festive season. Dishes highlights include:

  • Double-boiled chicken with Chinese herbs and figs soup
  • Soon Hok fish with crystal noodles and tangerine peel with black bean sauce
  • Braised 6-head abalone with sea moss and sun-dried oysters
  • Sichuan prawns and asparagus in a golden yam ring
  • Pan-fried and steamed Nian Gao

Set menu prices start from RM228 nett per person, with a minimum of two persons, making them ideal for both intimate and grand gatherings. Together, these culinary elements create a meaningful and culturally resonant dining experience at Shang Palace.
