Photos of a car crash involving a Lamborghini Aventador and a Proton Persona have gone viral.

While we can’t determine the original source of the images, numerous netizens claimed that the incident took place at the traffic light near Kampung Kebun Bunga, Shah Alam on Tuesday (4th July).

Apparently, the supercar was allegedly drove by a 16-year-old, who does not possess a driving license. The suspect is also believed to be the son of a Tan Sri. According to TallyPress, Tan Sri is the 2nd most senior title at Federal Level.

The photos show the Lamborghini crashed into a drain while the Proton’s windshield is seen shattered. It’s uncertain whether the drivers of both cars are injured or not.

In case you didn’t know, a brand new Lamborghini Aventador (2017 edition) costs roughly around RM3.3 million (with tax) whereas a reconditioned unit is priced around RM1.7 million. Yup, we know. That is one expensive vehicle.

See more photos of the crash in the post below:

Many netizens criticised the alleged underage driver for his reckless behaviour.“Power and money are nothing without control,” commented a Facebook user. Meanwhile, another netizen sarcastically wrote, “Never mind la…tomorrow can buy lotus! No big deal.”

Details of the crash are still scarce at the moment, but we’ll update this post with more information as soon as we get ’em.

UPDATE (6th July, 7am):

As it turns out, there might not have been a 16-year-old boy behind the wheel of the Lamborghini Aventador after all.

Subang Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Mohammad Azlin Sadari responded to the viral Facebook post which claimed that a 16-year-old son of a Tan Sri was driving the vehicle when it crashed. “There are many rumours flying around that it is a minister’s son and so on. It is not true,” he said.

Meanwhile, ACP Mohammad Azlin explained that the occurred when the driver of the Lamborghini Aventador lost control of his vehicle while trying to overtake another car. It had grazed the car in front before jumping the divider and crashing into a third car coming from the opposite direction.
