Earlier this week, Raja Muda of Selangor Tengku Amir Shah, announced his plans to marry his partner, Afzaa Fadini Abdul Aziz, later in October. In conjunction with the wedding ceremony, the Klang Royal City Council has announced several temporary road closures in the area.

Earlier today (Friday, 26th September 2025), Klang Royal City Council announced the upcoming road closures for the Royal Nuptial Ceremony of Selangor Crown Prince Tengku Amir Shah at Istana Shah Alam. According to the notice, several main roads in Klang will be closed from 27th to 29th September (Saturday to Monday) and on 1st and 2nd October (Wednesday and Thursday). The roads will be closed from 8am until the ceremony ends.

The affected roads are as follows:

  • Jalan Tengku Diaudin – Jalan Istana
  • Jalan Istana – Bulatan Simpang Lima
  • Jalan Dato’ Hamzah – Jalan Tengku Kelana
  • Jalan Istana – Jalan Stadium Sultan Suleiman
  • Jalan Istana – Lorong Tingkat
  • Jalan Istana – Jalan Pegawai
  • Jalan Istana – Jalan Tengku Kelana 2
  • Jalan Raja Jumaat – Jalan Istana
  • Bulatan Simpang Lima – Jalan Bukit Istana

All the mentioned roads will be fully closed on the affected dates, except for Jalan Dato’ Hamzah – Jalan Tengku Kelana and Jalan Raja Jumaat – Jalan, which will have staggered closures. The notice also included visuals of which roads will be closed during the ceremony. The Klang South police have urged road users to plan their journey and take alternative routes to avoid congestion.

Before the wedding ceremony takes place, all mosques throughout Selangor held Yasin recitals and prayer sessions on 25th September 2025 (Thursday). On the same day, Tengku Amir Shah also attended a Prayers for Blessings ceremony at the Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah Mosque in Shah Alam, alongside Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah. After the ceremony, the Crown Prince thanked the public for their prayers and blessings.

If you’ve planned to use any of these roads during the weekend or the coming week, it’s best to use an alternative route instead to avoid traffic jams. At the same time, we extend our congratulations to Tengku Amir Shah on his marriage.
