It appears that even members of the royal family would get excited over receiving a birthday message from their favourite stars. HRH Tengku Zatashah Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah, the Princess of Selangor, recently shared how she got to talk to her favourite Chinese actress, Esther Yu (虞书欣), on her birthday.
The Malaysian royalty recently celebrated her 51st birthday on 12th October and, on her Instagram account, shared photos from her birthday celebration with her husband. However, many netizens were most excited about Tengku Zatashah’s birthday present from Chinese actress Esther Yu. In her post, Tengku Zatashah wrote, “Last night, I had the best surprise birthday when Esther Yu called to wish me a happy birthday”.
Based on the post, it is assumed that Hong Kong socialite Josephine Lau was the one who arranged the birthday phone call. The Selangor royalty thanked both Esther and Josephine for the surprise and birthday wish. Tengku Zatashah also revealed what she said to Esther during the call, telling her how well she did in the Chinese variety show, “Chinese Restaurant (中餐厅)”. She also said she’s looking forward to seeing the actress’ upcoming projects.
If you didn’t know, the Princess of Selangor is an avid fan of Chinese entertainment, particularly dramas. She has even shared recommendations for her favourite shows, showing her interest and knowledge of the genre. After posting about the video call, many of the public figure’s followers congratulated her on getting to talk to her favourite actress. Some also took the opportunity to wish her a happy birthday.
