Yikes, here we go again!

Air Selangor has announced yesterday (Wednesday, 24th March) that over 30 areas in Petaling, Shah Alam and Klang will experience scheduled water supply disruptions at the end of the month.

In a statement posted on their official Facebook page, the company revealed that it involves the work of removing and connecting new pipes at Persiaran Selangor in Section 15, which will cause a water supply disruption for up to 48 hours. They stated, “The work would be carried out on 30th March (next Tuesday) and the supply is expected to be fully restored by 1st April (Thursday).”

At the same time, Air Selangor also informed that water supply outage is also scheduled to occur in 12 areas in Gombak and 46 areas in Kuala Lumpur for 68 hours. The company explained, “This came following the valve replacement work in the raw water pipe line from the Klang Gates Dam.”

“This will cause the temporary suspension of the Bukit Nanas and Wangsa Maju Water Treatment Plants (LRA) on 6th April (Tuesday). The work would be carried out from 9am to 9pm. It is expected to be fully restored on 9th April 2021, at 5am,” they added in the statement.

Meanwhile, Air Selangor is also planning to carry out maintenance work on main assets at several water treatment plants. This include the Cheras Batu 11 LRA on 15th June, the Sungai Langat LRA (6th July) and the Sungai Selangor Phase 1 LRA (5th October). Though, the implementation of the scheduled work is subject to SPAN (National Water Services Commission)’s approval.

They concluded by saying that Air Selangor will inform the list of areas involved and the water supply restoration schedule in more detail after SPAN’s approval is obtained.
