Being a K-pop idol is no easy task as it takes courage, hard work, and perseverance to finally debut after years of training. There have been countless talent contests in South Korea where contestants from around the world get to participate for a chance to debut as an artist.
SBS had just unveiled 41 out of 82 contestants for their new survival audition programme “Universe Ticket” and one of those 41 contestants announced was a Malaysian girl name Alyssa (알리사)!
Yesterday (Thursday, 13th July) SBS posted photos of the 41 contestants that will be participating in their new reality show. These young girls will compete for the chance to be shortlisted and selected to form a new girl group under F&F Entertainment for 2 years and 6 months.
Apart from familiar faces like Kwon Chaewon (권채원) and Lim Seo Won (임서원), Malaysia’s very own Alyssa was one of the contestants announced for the show, and here’s what we know about the 18-year-old so far:
- She was born in 2005
- She’s an ENFJ type according to her Myers–Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) personality test
- She’s a huge fan of several popular K-pop groups such as fromis_9, EXO, NCT, THE BOYZ, Golden Child, aespa, and IVE.
- Her words of resolution: “Everyone! Remember the name ‘Alyssa’!”
Aside from that, not much is known about the possible future K-pop star or what position she hopes to hold in the upcoming girl group. After the announcement, many Malaysian netizens showed their support on social media saying that they’ll be voting for her and are looking forward to see her in action.
Others commented that they are reserving their excitement until they tune in to the show to see what this future artist can really do. Regardless if she’ll one day debut as a K-pop idol or not, we applaud Alyssa for taking the next step in making her dreams come true and representing Malaysia on a global stage.
