What do you get when you combine the goodness of premium Hokkaido chocolates and cookies with the creative flavours of a local artisanal soft serve specialist?

Softsrve dessert magic that’ll leave you begging for more, that’s what.

Japanese confectioner Royce’ and dessert bar Softsrve have teamed up to create a special Japanese-inspired dessert, available for a limited run from 2nd February 2016 to 20th March 2016 at both Softsrve locations.

The two brands were “designed to pair together”, says Kevin Lau of Royce’ Malaysia, adding that “Softsrve is very much a good fit for Royce” with its “less is more” philosophy and minimalist Japanese-inspired decor, qualities strongly inherent in the Royce’ brand and aesthetic.

Staying true to its Japanese identity, the Royce’ x Softsrve dessert features Honey Matcha soft serve, with added pieces of Royce’ Baton Cookies Coconut and Royce’ R Chocolat Gianduja. Matcha was an inevitable flavour profile to explore, as it is a signature Royce’ flavour. Considered the pearl of Japanese tea, Matcha, with its bittersweet taste profile, pairs very well with sweet honey.

Retailing at RM16.00 per cup, the special Royce’ x Softsrve frozen masterpieces will be available with 2 additional topping options. The modern interpretation, an airier and lighter version, includes crunchy black sesame brittle, yogurt espuma and milk jelly cubes, whereas the more traditional Japanese pairing adds kinako crunch, Hokkaido red bean paste, and shiratama dango to the Honey Matcha ice cream and Royce’ chocolates.
